Castle guide tour

The castle which was constructed in the 12th/13th century was a strategic point for the north-south toll road. After going through different private owners it ended up in the possession of the municipality of Burgenland and nowaday acts as a museum and conference center.

A nice guided tour of the castle, duration approx. 1.5h, will be provided by locals, who will show you the different aspects and history of the castle and also explain about the peace-keeping mission which evolved out of its history.

The cost of the guided tour is 8,5 € and will be processed within the registration.

Archery

Being in a medieval castle, archery could not be missing. Whether you are an expert or never tried before: A tour in the nearby 3D parcour in the forest (“Bogenschießen in da Pampa“) will be organized, where you can feel like Robin Hood. It costs  20,- EUR / person, to be paid on-site.

Maximum number of participants will be restricted to 15 people. Registration will be done the first day of the conference on the registration desk as first-arrived/first-served. Depending on the weather conditions bring appropriate shoes/clothing. It will be cancelled if there is a thunderstorm.

Hiking tour

With its wooded hills and rolling fields, the Bucklige Welt surrounding Burg Schlaining offers great opportunities for hiking. A free tour along the W30 Burgblickweg trail will be organized, with no registration required. Simply be in front of the castle at 15:30 on Wednesday, 11.09., to participate. The tour is roughly 10 km and will take about 3 hours. Bringing sturdy shoes and rain protection is recommended. The hike will be cancelled in case of severe weather.
